Water surface-site is well preserved and the city still bears traces of many cultures - ancient, medieval, Renaissance and modern.

Varna is ideal for holidays - offers up to 10-11 hours on the day sun from June to August, and it is not cold wind, or unbearable heat. What’s more, the sea is calm, beautiful and free of dangerous tides. Varna is also a cultural center in Bulgaria, which compete with Sofia and Plovdiv. Offers a large number of cultural events, museums and galleries. Resort is sometimes crowded, is pretty close to some quieter ones, which are also tourist attractions - Nature Reserve Kamchiya, Royal Palace and Monastery Balchik slope Aladzha.

Varna is the largest city and seaside resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and northern Bulgaria, the third-largest city in Bulgaria after Sofia and Plovdiv, and 77th-largest in the European Union.

Varna roots back to nearly five thousand years, but it was’t until the maritime Greeks founded a colony here in 585 BC the city became a port. The modern city of Varna is both a shipyard and port for incoming freighters and the navy, and the riviera city, visited by tourists both domestic and abroad. It’s a cosmopolitan place and a nice one to scroll through: Baroque, turn-of-the-century and modern architecture mixed happily with shady promenades and a beautiful garden sea.

A restored Roman spa built in the 2nd century during the reign of Antony Pii and a Roman bath dating from the 3rd century building in the center of the city. The Holy Virgin Mary, considered the most imposing monument in the city, situated in the center of the city. The construction of the cathedral started in the second half of the 19th century, but was not consecrated until 1910.

Another church, the Church of St. Nicola is located near the Sea Garden Park and dates back to 1866. The Clock Tower, built in 1880, stands opposite the cathedral. The Theater of Drama, where for the first time Bulgarian theatrical performance was held, is also a must-see place in the city center. E ‘was built about a century ago and resembles Vienna buildings of that time. It houses a theater, opera and Philharmonic halls and stages performances throughout the summer. Not far from the Theater of the drama is the puppet theater, where the Golden Dolphin Festival of puppets takes place each year.

Varna city also has several museums, including the Archaeological Museum, Museum of National Renaissance, The Naval Museum, the Vladislav Varnenchik Park Museum, Ethnographic Museum, Museum of Nature and Science, The Aquarium and the Black Sea Museum, the Museum of Medicine and the Museum of Art and History of Varna. The latter has a particularly rich collection including gold treasure of Varna, dating back 6000 years ago, weighing approximately 6 kg and containing the oldest gold works found in the world. Moreover, opened the city’s art gallery, 1950, showing paintings of outstanding Bulgarian artists and works of a number of foreign artists, donated to the gallery by private persons. There are about ten cinemas functioning in Varna with the best in the city center, including the Mustang Cinema.

Sea Garden is another popular place for visitors of Varna. Garden, finally completed in 1908, shelters an amphitheater, the site of an astronomical observatory, a planetarium and a tower, children’s playground and a small channel, where one can practice rowing, swimming pool with water wheels and a zoo. Beach, where you can find mud and complexes, hydrotherapy, two waterfront, numerous restaurants and discos, is also just below the Sea Garden Park.

Delphinium is one of the favorite attractions for children and guests of Varna for its regular performances of talented dolphin artists. Festival complex is situated directly opposite the entrance to the Sea Garden Park. It is a modern building of aluminum, stone and glass, and has several stages, conference-hall, and a big bazaar. Another remarkable point is Asparouh Bridge (named after the founder of the Bulgarian State Asparouh), which connects the city center with a residential district Galata Asparouhovo. It is the longest bridge in Bulgaria and risklovers may even try a Bunji jump here.

Like many other islands nearby Alonissos changed because of the earthquake in 1965. whole towns were abandoned by the locals and rebuilt in safer areas. Patitiri also changed because of the earthquake and nowadays it is a new village, built by the inhabitants of the island.

Due to the earthquake, the houses of Patititri are all recent and give a different image than of the other Greek islands which usually have a little and very picturesque harbour, full of traditional houses. But still the island and its villages conserves there natural beauty. Amazing pine woods surrounded the marvellous island and its beaches. It is the perfac place for families and couples.

Sailing It is easy to capture favourable winds among such a number of islands as exist in Croatian territorial waters - whether blowing from the land or the sea. The strength of wind and waves is not unusually excessive, but should you have had enough just sail for the nearest sheltered bay. Fully equipped sailboats of various categories (with or without a skipper) can be hired from any one of the dozens of marinas situated up and down the coast and on the islands. Yachting clubs and marinas are numerous and well equipped. We are recommending sailing regio at Zadar, Sibenik und Dubrovnik.

Alpinists and freestyle climbers will find the right climbing environment in both the continental and littoral regions, with some climbing sites being located quite close to towns and popular Croatia holiday resorts (Zagreb, Ogulin, Rovinj, Paiin, Split, Ornls…]. Routes ranging from several meters long for beginners, to several hundred meters for specialists, are open to climbing enthusiasts on the rocks of Paklenica, Velebit, Ucka, in the Dinara range (including Dinara-Ornis), Mosor, Biokovo and others, and on the islands (Brac, Vis, Mljet). The best known climbing destinations in the continental parts of the country are on the mountains of Klek, Papuk, Kalnik, on Samarske stijene and Bijele stijene
